Welfare and Housing Manager East London Up to £38,000
Our Client, a Charitable Organisation seek a Welfare and Housing Manager to deliver specialist welfare benefits advice and support to their residents.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Supervise the Welfare Team with regards to all administrative tasks.
- Line Manage the Welfare team regarding holidays, sickness and appraisals.
- Ensure that Residents understand and comply with the charities Conditions of Residence, and any breaches of the Licence Agreement are dealt with appropriately in liaison with the Operations Manager.
- Assist service users to understand their rights and responsibilities with regards to welfare benefits and assist them in making claims so that they receive all relevant entitlements.
- Ensure practical help is given to residents to access personal grants on their behalf as appropriate
- Liaise with external agencies and organisations (e.g. Housing Benefit, DWP, Social Services, Doctors, etc.) to provide practical assistance to residents as required.
- Ensure that the occupancy is maximised in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
- Ensure that Risk and Needs Assessments are carried out and residents are monitored to ensure that their ongoing needs are managed accordingly.
- Investigate and effectively manage any resident issues, complaints or events.
- Monitor and check service charge payments on a weekly basis, taking appropriate action to rectify any issues.
- Enter housing benefit payments onto the system monthly, taking appropriate action to rectify any issues.
- Support the Operations Manager with the Resident Activity Forum with presence from the Welfare Team at meetings.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with people who are or have been homeless, Case management experience and excellent communication skills.
